Surya Binayak Temple

Surya Binayak temple is located on the south of Bhaktapur Durbar square and the Araniko highway. The temple was built in the 17th century and is abode of lord Ganesha, the hindu god with elephant head. This historical temple did not even receive a scratch from the 2015 earthquake.

The temple is located on the top of the hill in a beautiful and quiet setting. The temple offers a beautiful views of Bhaktapur city and the surrounding. The temple houses statues of the malla king and a large statue of lord Ganesh’s vehicle, rat.
