Manaslu circuit trek is the modern day Annapurna circuit trek. This is one of the most beautiful trekking in Nepal. The trek encircles Manaslu which is 8156 meters tall. Furthermore, Manaslu is the 8th highest peak above the sea level. This is probably how this is how the trek gets its name. Manaslu is a very new trekking destination in Nepal. Hence, it is a very beautiful yet very unfrequented trekking destination in Nepal.

Until very recent, trekking in the Manaslu was completely a camping trek. Although the tea houses are emerging, the accommodation is still basic. On the other hand, the region requires a special permit to trek on this region. Furthermore, the restriction prohibits the locals from killing any animal species.

When it comes to terrain, you would traverse through 6 different climate zones. This results in you experiencing hot and humid to the freezing climate conditions. The landscape is vibrant and allows you to witness the lush green terrain to high mountains. The terrain is not only beautiful but also serene. This serenity is the result of lack of roadways linking the region with the world.

When it comes to connection Manaslu region is more accessible to Tibet over Nepal. Hence, they have inherited and practice culture, religion and norms from Tibet. Furthermore, it may come to your surprise that Nepali is not primary language. Also, people may not have human skills as basic as communication skills. These are some of the aspects which makes this trek very intriguing.

Last but not the least, this trek is beautiful but it is not meant for all. Manaslu circuit trek requires 3 weeks and reaches to elevation of 5000 meters. Meaning, it requires some experience of long walks. Despite all the challenges, this is a very beautiful trek and once in a life time experience. We would start early in the morning by boarding a vehicle to Arughat. This bus or van ride would take around 7 to 8 hours. Half of the way is nice and black topped, whereas half of the road is bumpy and off road. Once we reach Arughat we would call it a day and get ready for Manaslu circuit trek. Overnight in Arughat. Meal plan B,L,D.

The first day of the trek shouldn't be much tough on your legs and hence we would walk only for around 4-5 hours with a lot of breaks in between. The trail is gradient in the beginning but beyond Arkhet it gets steep. We would make our way through beautiful villages and rice terrains of indigenous gurung community. Keep your eyes open for plenty of monkeys in the forest in between Arkhet and Soti Khola. Overnight in Soti Khola. Meal plan B,L,D.

Initially we climb through beautiful Sal forest and further on the face of a cliff and along the budhi Gandagi river. We pass several Gurung villages and amazing rice terrain. Keep your eyes open for beautiful display of indigenous culture. Overnight in Machha Khola. Meal plan B,L,D.

We would embark on the same trail left behind on the previous day. We would walk on lush green hills and cross the budhi Gandaki river for several times before we reach our final destination. On our way we would as well meet Tatopani, natural hot water springs. This section of the trail however is very isolated and we would only see few scattered houses in most of the case. Overnight in Jagat. Meal plan B,L,D.

The trail is not very difficult until the very last moment of the trail. However, on this day you will see the transition in houses, culture and crops. The structure of homes are made out of rocks over the houses made out of mud and concrete in the lower area, the crops change from rice and wheat to potato and buckwheat and culture reflect to that of Tibet. You walk through a lot of prayer flags, mani (prayer wheels) and Kani (spiritual and religious gates). The final hour climb to Namrung is tiring. Overnight in Namrung. Meal plan B,L,D.

The walk begins with easy uphill and not too difficult. We cross several short streams and small patches of villages of Barcham, lihi and Sho, but the most significant one is Lho. Manaslu dominates the view of entire Lho. You can as well take a short time to explore the village and observe the handmade religious architecture. It takes around 3 and half hours to Lho and from here our final destination is another 2 and half hours away. Overnight in Samagaun. Meal plan Meal plan B,L,D.

Taking a day off in Samagaun is a part of acclimatization. This beautiful village nestled on the laps of Manaslu himalaya has several places worth exploring. There are gompas, shrines and local infrastructures worth exploring. There is a natural hot water spring as well which is enjoyed by trekkers in the region. Overnight in Samagaun. Meal plan B,L,D.

The trek begins easy and on the grassy grazing land often referred as Kharka. From here, in around 2 hours we reach the first village of Samdo; settlement of Tibetan fled refugees. This is an ideal place to relax a bit and see the surrounding. After catching our breath, we move on with our journey. Lookout for splendid view of Manaslu himal. In another 3 hours, looking on the north face of Manaslu and Larkya peak we make it to Dharmashala. Overnight in Dharmashala. Meal plan B,L,D.

This is the longest and the toughest day in the entire Manaslu circuit trek. The day is going to be long so we would start before the first light. The hike in no doubt is tedious but on the top awaits the most beautiful of the himalayan grandeur. On the way down you will be greeted by beautiful views of Bimthang village and several turquoise colored lakes. The highest point of the trek as well is Larkya La pass. Overnight in Binthang. Meal plan B,L,D.

We start strolling down Bimthang valley and towards the end of the valley we first cross a glacial melt, climb down a moraine and climb up a moraine. The west face of Manaslu is still still impressive. From this point there is a sudden change in the topography. We traverse through forest of Pine and Rhododendron. The descend is at first steep and then more gradient. Ovenight in Goa. Meal plan B,L,D.

Today our trail would meet the Annapurna circuit trek and we would walk steep downhill on the deepest part of Marsyangdi gorge. Overnight in Chamje. Meal plan B,L,D.

We would follow the trail adjacent to Marshyangdi river and walk through more warm weather. We would make our day through rice field and scattered houses all the way to Syange. Overnight in Syange. Meal plan B,L,D.

We would board a vehicle on off road track to Besisahar. Once in Besisahar we immediately board a vehicle back to Kathmandu. Once we complete this 7 hour ride back to Kathmandu we would transfer you to your hotel/hostel and hence our Manaslu circuit trek would come to end. Meal plan B.
