Lomanthang Trek or say Upper Mustang Trek is one of the most beautiful treks in Nepal. As said by Dalai lama, Lomanthang is among places that still preserves unsoiled Tibetan culture. The culture and practices of this place dates back to 1500 years. Upper Mustang trek is where history meets today. You will see medieval Asia meeting the 21st century at this very trek in Nepal.

Upper Mustang Trek lies in the northwest of Annapurna and extends to the Tibetan plateau. The majority of land that traverses in Upper Mustang trek is arid. The dry land is a result of rain shadows caused by the soaring mountains in the Annapurna. The stone houses, separated by narrow alleys and murals paintings are striking. Furthermore, the folklores of the witches, sorceries and magic makes this trek special.

Every tiny bit of Upper Mustang Trek is unique in its own way. This was a Kingdom in Kingdom of Nepal until the abolition of Kingdom of Nepal in 2008. Despite the abolishment, the former king of Mustang still remains there and in his palace. He remains there with his family and shares stories to travelers.

The festivals in this region has its own originality. We operate a special Upper Mustang Trek just for this purpose. The festival witnessed in Upper Mustang is extraordinary and very unexpected. It is likely that you will dare not to believe your eyes. The name of the festival is Tiji and its ritual dates back to Guru Rinpoche. The celebration usually falls in the month of may and lasts for 3 days. Furthermore, they perform 53 different magical dances in different attires. Likewise the other festival of Yartung takes place at the time of Harvest and waves off summer. The locals thank the lord for the harvest of the season by drinking, dancing, horse racing and archery.

Lomanthang Trek which is also known as Upper Mustang Trek is a vacation that is easy on the legs. However, you will have side effects of long lasting memories. It will make you not want to stop exploring the region even after having spent over two weeks. Book this awesome trek today!
