Tokyu

Tokyu is basically a small campsite located immediately outside Do Tarap and is a part of Do Tarap. Do Tarap means the entire region however Do as well means lower. This fertile valley is home of magar and Bhotia people. This village as well as several gompas, Bon and Buddhist monasteries and schools display religious harmony.

This is one of the highest permanent settlements on the planet. The most prominent animal of this region is Yak but keep your eyes open for blue sheep as well. Farming is the first occupation of people here but the only crop people harvest here is Barley. An interesting fact about Do Tarap is that the wind blows heavy from noon until evening.
