Tengboche

Tengboche is a village in Khumjung of the Everest region. It is located at an elevation of 3867 meters and is famous for homing the biggest monastery in the region. This place offers one of the finest views Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku.

Tengboche is a buddhist influenced village for over 350 years now, which is why we would notice buddhist influence in the entire village. The village of Tengboche is located close to the junction of rivers Dudh Koshi and Imja Khola.

Tengboche is considered to be the midway point of Lukha and Everest base camp. Since the elevation is high it is below freezing in the winters, whereas the temperature remains around 20’s in the summer. The rhododendron blossoms of the spring in this village is highly acclaimed by the travellers. The accommodation in Tengboche is nice but basic but you can yet rejoice bakery goodies in the only bakery shop.
