Manang

Manang at 3540 meters is by far the most populous and advanced village, in the shadows of Annapurna region. The village has over 500 stone slated houses and among them are hefty amount of teahouses. Manang is very arid and everything looks black and yellow, it takes you the arid desert scenery of 80’s.

The residents of Manang are known as Manang Pa or Manange and they are the descendents of Tibeto Burman race. The village has a post office, good amount of lodges, shops which sell sleeping bags and socks, shoe repair shops. The restaurants have better menus and food prepared is better than other villages in the. The village also has Himalayan Rescue office, which is highly functional during the trekking season. The office operates on every morning basis advices trekkers about cause, effect and prevention of AIMS. Furthermore, there are foreign doctors and volunteers who would take care of you if you fall sick.

This village is en route to Annapurna Circuit trek or Tilicho Lake trek and is as well a very beautiful in terms of Himalayan panorama. The summits of Annapurna and Gangapurna are less than 10 kilometers away and the views from such in the vicinity are very captivating.
