Kopan monastery is located on the hilltop of Boudha and was founded by Lama Thubten Yeshe. The lama died at the age of 1984 but left behind this beautiful monastery. Kopan is believed to be the best place in Kathmandu valley to learn basic meditation skills and principles of Buddhism. There are several classes and the very basic plan is a 7 day course. All the classes are given by foreign teachers. Please follow the website for further details.
