Kakani

Kakani which is around 2073 meters from the sea level is a small village located on a top of a hill. This probably is the quickest escape from Kathmandu valley. Just 30 kilometers from the valley, Kakani is properly linked by road and can be accessed by walking, cycling as well and on private and public vehicle. Kakani as well falls in the way of Kathmandu Trishuli highway.

Kakani is famous for several reasons and one is the strawberry farms, second the mountain views of Annapurna, Manaslu and the Langtang and finally the aerial view of the capital. The hilltop of Kakani as well has the Thai airways crash memorial site. Furthermore, there are are couple of campgrounds and these campgrounds offer fantastic accommodation and basic food option but a terrific experience for one or couple of nights. From Kakani one can hike or do downhill through the Shivapuri Nagarjun national park to Budhanilkantha and further.
