Bimthang

Bhimtang at 3720 meters from the sea level is the first village after crossing Larke pass. The name of the place means plain of sand in Tibetan. It was a famous trade place and in 1950 3000 animals were traded in the same place. At the moment Bhimtang has handful of basic motels that caters travellers from Nupri and Marshyangdi valley.

This valley is surrounded by huge peaks from all around and is isolated from the world. This could be one of the reasons why Khampa guerrilla staged here in the 1970;s.
