Balthali

Balthali village development committee lies on the outskirts of town named Panauti and Khopasi. Around 40 kilometers away from the capital city Kathmandu, this village sits ideally on the slope of a hill, intermingled with terrace farms.

Predominant settlers from this village are Tamangs, an indigenous Tibeto Burman race who are followers of Buddhism. This may be one of the reasons why the entire Balthali is seen to be wrapped up by Buddhist prayer flags. There are several homestays and resorts that serve every growing national and international tourist to this destination.

A short hike of around 4 kilometers from Khopasi is the best way to get to Balthali. Walking in lush green forest and making our way over several suspension bridges, watching the mountain originated bournes gushing down is the best way to reach this village. On the top, on a clear day, awaits beautiful views of Mt. Manaslu and mountains in the Langtang.
