Are you looking to lose weight? If so we have an absolutely fantastic plan for you where you would enjoy the best scenery in the world and not just walk but walk to lose weight. The trek is intended for 30 days and you start slow but towards the end you traverse through one of the highest landmarks and by the time you come to an end of the trek you will have lost 15 – 20 pounds. It’s more of a weight loss camp and surely it is a trek on Nepal’s one of the most surreal trails.

This weight loss vacation combines two famous treks in Nepal. The treks include Annapurna circuit which is one of the classic treks, followed by the Everest three pass treks. Annapurna is comparatively easy and acclimatizes you pretty well for Everest. On the other hand, the trek also introduces you with beautiful settlements along the trail, which would help you forget the initial hardship of the trail. By the end of trek you would lose over 7 pounds of weight already and feel nimble. Furthermore, once your feet gets used to it Everest will push you off the limit  and help you lose over 15 pounds of weight and sometime up to 25. There is no simpler way to get rid of the extra pounds other than losing weight by walking on the most serene and focused ambiance.

You will follow a strict diet all the way and although the menu would offer a variety of meals. The team would include a doctor who would regularly monitor your health all the way, a guide who would guide you in the mountains and make necessary arrangements, and assistant guides who would further ensure the safety and security of the trek. Before you enroll in the trek it is very important for us to know your health conditions. You will further have to send your recent medical reports of blood pressure, blood sugar, and hemoglobin. You can send the reports to info@vajraadventure.com to book the trek today!

ALTERNATIVE ITINERARY DUE TO FLIGHT CANCELLATIONS:

The flights to Lukla and back are heavily dependent on weather conditions. As a result, flight being cancelled for one day, couple of days or for several days is a known phenomenon for flight companies in Nepal. In case we face such circumstances with your holiday plans in the Everest, we will be following a contingency plan and the plan would be as follows:

Day 24

In case your flight was cancelled on the previous day, we will attempt to board our flight on the second. This will be our second attempt to make that flight. In case we make it to Lukla on this day. We will follow our original itinerary from Lukla for the next 14 days.

Accommodation

Meals Included

  • 3 times meals during the trek (staple meal of Daal Bhat for lunch and dinner or  any one item from the menu.)

Day 25

This will be the third and last attempt made to board your flight to Lukla. In case if you are not able to board the flight on this day as well, we would do our best to find an alternative. The best practiced alternative will be a helicopter to Lukla. The helicopter in a sharing basis will cost USD 500 per passenger. In case you take the Heli, you will be dropped in Lukla in around 45 minutes. In case we make it to Lukla on this day, we will still follow the original itinerary to Everest Base Camp and head back to catch our flight on the last day from Lukla.

Depending upon the package you select and the number of people in the Group, we will either take a private vehicle or a public jeep. The drive takes around 9 hours. This route to Everest Base camp was used by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, the first to scale Mt. Everest. It takes 4 days from here to join the main trail to the base camp. The trek joins the main trail in Monjo.

On this very first day walking on the lush green hills, we will see the mountains in the Annapurna in the distance. This route is less populous and very tranquil. The lush green forest of pine and orchid is home to some rare species of birds. It is as well advised to keep your eyes open for snow leopards. It is mostly an uphill walk on the very first day to cover 1000 meters. Overnight in Sirung.

The lush green hills on this section houses beautiful and rare species of migrant birds, waterfall, barren cliffs and plenty of bee hives. After few tough incline we reach Tal which also the entry village to Manang district but very busy. Tal has hefty amount of teahouses and we usually stop here for our lunch. The trail is steep, narrow and we stroll on the trails through landslide prone region as well. This section of the Annapurna Circuit Trek offers a beautiful view of the Annapurna Massif. After the first half of today’s trek the trail gets more gradual and the inclines are somewhat easier. Once we make it to Chame we can as well rejoice the small hot springs. Overnight in Chame.

We go past the deserted village of Bhartang where trekkers stop by for tea. Further down the trail, we go past apple orchard and furthermore the memorial of Japanese trekker who died in the avalanche trying to cross Thorung La. With the transitory view of Manaslu, Annapurna II, Himchuli and Ngadi Chuli, we make our way through Tibetan communities and beautiful manis; prayer apparatus of Buddhist followers and fields of Buckwheat. From the very first day Marsyangdi river never leaves the trail and does the same for this day. We start strolling on a relatively flat ground in the beginning and then gradually climb upwards. The first noticeable village on this day is Humde - the only village in Manang with airport. After crossing Humde the landscape gets more barren but the views get more better. The views of Annapurna III and IV on one hand and the barren cliffs on the other is captivating. We usually stop for lunch in Mungi. one and half hours easy uphill walk after lunch we make it to Manang. We traverse through various terrain and through the fields of buckwheat, barley and potato and pine. On this day we make our way through remarkable Kani’s (gate) to rustic settlements of Tibetan community namely Manange. Overnight in Manang.

The hike gets strenuous from this day onwards because of the altitude and kicking in of thin air and it is advised to drink more water. On this day we ascent somewhere around 500 meters and we do not descend at all but we make our way through one of the most amazing view of Annapurna on our south. We reach Khangsar by 2 and half hour and immediately after Khangsar we climb a sheer uphill to Yak Kharka. We walk through Tengi; the last permanently inhabited village in Manang and make our way through pastures and miniature forest of Juniper, roses and barberry to Yak Kharka. Yak Kharka – Thorung High Camp(4,450m/14,600ft) 4 – 5 hours

From what looks like an old cowboy town of Yak Kharka we get ready for strenuous hike of 600+ meters, which includes some steep and sheer trails up and down hill. The first initial climb of two and half hours is painstaking but however the surreal view of the surrounding, blue ships and wild Yaks will help you forget all that. Furthermore we keep inclining through narrow and barren trails exposed to the slopes and crossing the wooden bridge we make to Thorung phedi. There are very few pine plants towards the Yak Kharka end but towards the Thorung high camp the land is more barren and the only plant seen is silver birch. Thorung phedi is a valley, which is not inhabited year around but offers a very uncanny view of surrounding cliffs and mountains in the Annapurna. We hike uphill further for an hour until we reach Thorung High pass where we rest for the night and acclimatize before we ascent to Thorung-La pass.

We rise and shine early and head out of Thorung Phedi for the longest day of Annapurna circuit trek. Furthermore, this is the most difficult section of the trek but equally beautiful that helps us forget all the slogging and hard work. Most of the day’s walk is sheer and uphill, on barren cliffs with wild Yaks. The initial climb from Thorung Phedi connects with Thorung high camp and further around 3 hours of uphill, we would reach Thorung la. The main idea behind starting the day early is to make sure that we cross Thorung – La pass before the sun is up and at its best. We ascent 650+ meters to Thorung – la which is one of the highest passes in the world, from where the view of the mountains in the periphery is as well of the premier quality. From Thorung – La we make a sheer drop 1600 meters toward the holy shrine of Muktinath.

Further down on jeep track dodging it time and again we reach Marpha. Marpha is famous for its apple orchards and apple brandy distillery and also homes one of the oldest distilleries in the country. The initial trail past Renjo – La to Gokyo is almost vertical and strenuous and towards further down, the trail becomes gradual. The days hike is one of the most demanding days in the itinerary of Everest 3 pass trek. The day starts with sheer ascend on the slopes and lose boulders but the view of Ama Dablam right in front and the Ngozumpa on the back and Pharilapche and Kyajo RI is very astonishing. The trail to Dzongla from Cho La pass is equally challenging, you will walk down looking at the broken face of Cho La glacier. After almost two hours of downhill, you will enjoy easy stroll in between beautiful peaks which seems like in the grasp of our palms, with the striking view of Ama Dablam, far down the valley. From Kongma La to Chukkung is equally grinding downhill but the view of Island peak and ridge of Amphu Lapcha will sweep you off your feet.
