Poon hill trek is the most adored short treks in Nepal. The name of the trek comes from a hilltop Poon hill that lies in the Annapurna region of Nepal. The hill gets its name from the local community of Poon people who surround the nearby hills. Poon hill is around 3210 meters from the sea level and has no settlement on the top. And, it is rather a viewpoint for witnessing the mountain panorama of the Annapurna.
The trail that leads in and out to the final destination is what makes the Poon hill trek very beautiful. Furthermore, this aspect makes this trek the most demanded short trek in Nepal. This trek is completely inhabited and every settlement is significant. To add up, the lifestyle, culture, tradition and hospitality is different from one another. Itinerary
You could be already in Kathmandu or you may be arriving on this very day, anyway, we welcome you to Nepal! Thank you for choosing Ghorepani Poon hill trek with Vajra Adventure. On this first day, we transfer you to your hotel and brief you about the trek if the time permits. You will not do much except observing the ambiance around you and get acquainted with the country.

This is an important day because today is the day when you will meet with your guide. The guide or one of our team members will be responsible for briefing you about the trek about more or less everything you need to know about Poon hill trek. After briefing we would thoroughly go through the trekking gear that you have. Furthermore, if there is anything that is not according to the trekking standard we will do last minute shopping of the trekking gears required. On the other hand one of our backend office staff will get busy preparing all the required permits and logistics.

Depending upon the request of the guest and the type of trek selected we board the vehicle included in the package by 6:45 and leave Kathmandu by 7:00am. The vehicle takes around 7 hours from Kathmandu to Pokhara after multiple breaks in between. Overnight in Pokhara!

After breakfast, we take a two-hour jeep ride to Hile, stopping at Birethanti for a permit check. From Hile, we begin our trek to Ulleri. This is a challenging day as we ascend approximately 3,500 stone steps, but the effort is rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. After 4-5 hours of hiking, we arrive in Ulleri, where we will spend the night

Today’s trek takes us through dense rhododendron and oak forests, crossing picturesque villages. The trail gradually ascends, offering breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. After a 5-6 hour trek, we reach Ghorepani, a charming village with panoramic mountain vistas. Overnight stay in Ghorepani.

We start the day early with a short hike to Poon Hill (3,210m) to witness a mesmerizing sunrise over the Himalayas. The panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre are unforgettable. After enjoying the views, we return to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue our trek to Tadapani, passing through lush forests and small streams. From Tadapani, we descend to Chuile, where we stay overnight.

Our journey continues as we descend to Jhinu Danda, famous for its natural hot springs. After reaching Jhinu, you can take a relaxing dip in the hot springs, located an hour’s walk from the lodge. This is a great way to soothe your muscles after days of trekking. Afterward, we return to the lodge to relax and enjoy the evening.

On the final day of the trek, we begin by crossing Nepal’s longest suspension bridge. As we continue, we pass through scenic terraced farmlands, gradually making our way to Nayapul. From Nayapul, a vehicle will take us back to Pokhara. Upon arrival, we check into your hotel where you can freshen up and unwind after the trek. Once refreshed, feel free to relax or venture out to explore Pokhara’s attractions, including the stunning Davis Falls, the mystical Gupteshwor Cave, or the fascinating International Mountain Museum, which showcases the rich history of Nepal's mountaineering culture.

After an early breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu. The journey takes about seven hours, retracing the winding roads through Nepal’s hilly terrain. Upon arrival, we transfer you to your hotel. You can spend the evening shopping for souvenirs or enjoying a farewell dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant.

- Please bring 2 passport size photographs for your trekking permit to the group meeting.
Essential Trip Information
- The trip begins from Kathmandu
- You need to arrive at least 2 days prior to your scheduled trek initiation date
- You will begin your trip from day 2 of your arrival and only after signing necessary formalities
- You need to bring along at least 2 passport sized pictures and hand it to the company on day 2.
- In case of trek cancellation or trek forfeit due to unseen circumstances, we shall compensate with an alternate itinerary or activities.
- You need to bring along at least 500 dollars additional in cash. The funds will help you in case of delayed flights or unseen circumstances
