Khopra Ridge Trek is a new trekking destination in Annapurna region. Furthermore, this a short trek which is gaining popularity in no time. Falling south of the Great Himalayan trail, Khopra Ridge is in the subtropical region. This region experiences 4 seasons. Alike the other trails in the Annapurna region, this trek as well is inhabited entirely. Furthermore, fun loving communities who are hospitable are the essence of this trek.
Trekkers who do not like to go with the flow love this trek. However, this trek has its own charm even if it combined with other famed routes like Ghorepani Poon hill. This detour from the regular trail offers spectacular and better views of peaks. Until now, only handful of adventurous trekkers of ours have embarked on this trail. Due to recent development of teahouses this trek has been attracting a lot of trekkers.
Most of the trek is through lush green hills and beautiful forest of Rhododendron and Pine. If spotted, the monkeys playing in their clan in its natural state is captivating. The sunrise and sunset from behind the Annapurna will help you forget everything. What is more interesting than any other in Khopra Ridge trek? It is the privilege of accommodating in community run teahouses. These teahouses contributes part of its profit for school and uplifting the community. Thank you for choosing Khopra Ridge trek as your next adventure destination! On this day you arrive to Kathmandu and we transfer you to your accommodation. You rest and rejuvenate for days to come. You can as well explore the surrounding and get to know a little about the country and culture.

You will meet your trek leader on this day and he would brief you about trekking in Nepal and your chosen destination. Meanwhile, the back office staff will prepare all required permits for your trekking. later in the day, you will do the last minute shopping for your trekking along with your guide. While our back office staff get ready preparing permits from the government offices, our guides help you get acquainted with the country by taking you to the most happening market in Kathmandu.

On this day we have our breakfast by 6:00 a.m. in the morning and head towards tourist Bus Park at Thamel and board a tourist bus to Pokhara. The bus ride will take around 7 hours through curvy roads of hilly terrain with couple of breaks in between for snacks and lunch. The drive to Pokhara on one of the major highways is exhilarating with beautiful views of never leaving tributaries, lush green hills and roadside settlements.

We begin from Pokhara in between 7 - 8 am in the morning and after breakfast. Early in the morning we move towards Kande, the trek putin site, a hill station. From Kande, you would begin your journey on foot. The first ever proper community you will come to is Australian camp, followed by Deurali and then finally, Landruk. Mostly you will travel through the forest and for 5 - 6 hours in order to reach your final destination. Overnight in Landruk.

This will be your first day of complete mountain experience and you will begin your day after breakfast. The hours of walk for this day is around 5 to 6 hours. In the first phase of the trek you will first plunge down. Towards the second half, you will mostly spend covering the drop of the first half. Nevertheless, the trek is entire in tranquil ambiance. In between, you will come across a beautiful Gurung Village which probably will also be the largest village in the trek. Further from Ghandruk you will once again enter the jungle and reach Bhaise Kharka. Bhaise is a rest area consisting of only 2 hotels. Overnight in Bhaise.

The trail out of Bhaise Kharka until Tadapani is of easy gradient. This journey takes a little less than 2 hours. Beyond Tadapani, the trail picks up and stops only at our final destination of the day. This portion of the trek is highly appreciated at the time of Rhododendron blossoms. The entire green forest changes its hue to pink. Dobato is well appreciated viewpoint in the region which consists of only 3 hotels. In case the weather permits, you would be greeted by the mountains in the Annapurna. Overnight in Dobato.

This is by far the best part of the trek as per our experience. The trail is inclusive of beautiful forest, the views of the cascading valley’s on the south. Furthermore, the beautiful cloud formation in those valleys, the streams along the trail and hide and seek playing mountains. All the elements comprise to make this day a unique experience. The entire day’s trek takes around 6 - 7 hours. The first 3 hours of the trek is more or less a downhill walk and the remaining 3 - 4 hours is an uphill journey. Once in Khopra, you can spend the night watching the beautiful mountains and the cloud foramation in the valleys below. Overnight in Khopra.

This will be one of the most difficult days on your Khopra Ridge Trek. Saying that, this would as well be one of the most beautiful part of the trek. On this day, you will reach to the foot of Annapurna South to witness a beautiful glacial lakes. The difficult part of the trek is walking around 8 - 9 hours two way. It is because of lack of settlements along this trails. The views of the mountains and the surrounding is beautiful. After spending brief moment around the lake, you will return back to Khopra. Overnight in Khopra.

The trail on this day is mostly downward. From 3500 meters from sea level, you will reach around 800 meters in about 5 - 6 hours. You will come across one village in between the trek namely Paundhar. This village is home to indigenous Magar people. The exciting part of the trek comes at the end and in Tatopani. Tatopani means hot water and it gets its name from hot water springs in the village. Trekkers usually sit for hours and hours in this natural hot spring pool to wear off fatigue from the trek. Overnight in Tatopani.

Unless you have a private vehicle on your package, you will take a local bus in Tatopani and head towards Pokhara. You will have to transfer to another bus from a nearby city called Beni. The entire bus journey takes around 6 - 7 hours depending upon traffic and availability of the bus. You will travel through beautiful scenery and hilly terrain all the way to Pokhara. Once in Pokhara, you are transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Pokhara.

The bus ride takes around 7 hours to Kathmandu. The bus traverses through beautiful lush green hills and views of mountains (only in season). Once we reach Kathmandu we transfer you to your accommodation and hence officially come to the end of Khopra Ridge trek.

Essential Trip Information
- The trip begins from Kathmandu
- You need to arrive at least 2 days prior to your scheduled trek initiation date
- You will begin your trip from day 2 of your arrival and only after signing necessary formalities
- You need to bring along at least 2 passport sized pictures and hand it to the company on day 2.
- In case of trek cancellation or trek forfeit due to unseen circumstances, we shall compensate with an alternate itinerary or activities.
- You need to bring along at least 500 dollars additional in cash. The funds will help you in case of delayed flights or unseen circumstances
