Upper Pisang is a rustic village that sits at an elevation of 3310 meters from the sea level. This historical place in Manang district is blessed with the views of Himalayas in the Annapurna region. The accommodation is very basic and the facilities are not of the top quality but its worth exploring.
The 2 ageless Gompas are beautiful and worth giving a look, as it carries a history on its back and the remains of old Dzong (fortress) is as well priceless. The predominant settlers of Pisang are Manange – a Tibeto burman race, settled in Manang. Since Manang lies in the rain shadows of Annapurna, people here heavily rely on different crops cultivated year around.
