Tilicho Lake sits at 4920 meters and is a marvel of Nature. The lake is frozen solid in the winters and is turquoise in between September and May but year around it proves to be a strikingly spectacular. The lake is basically a glacier melt and lies at the foot of extensive glacial system of the great barriers.
The view of the adjacent Tilicho peak (7134 m) is out of this world but nevertheless other mountains in the Annapurna range as well set the center stage and are stunning. There is only one stone slated house in the Tilicho lake periphery and is not a teahouse. The house is merely a tea, coffee and hot water center that caters a limited menu of hot beverages. The only available option through the night is camping but loud noises of glacier breaking and submerge in the lake often breaks a good night sleep.
