Gokarna forest

Gokarna forest was once the hunting ground for the royal family, opened in attempt to protect the trees from the locals. The forest now is famous for the resort that it homes and the golf course it houses. The golf course is regarded as the best in the country. This resort was once a le Meridien property and maintains several standard of the same till the day.

Very close to the resort, on the hilltop, besides the Bagmati river, is the holy pilgrimage of Gokarna temple. It is as well known as the Gaya of Nepal. People flock to this temple on Kushe aushi also known as father’s day according to the lunar calendar and pay homage to the deceased ones.
