Chokhangparo which is also known as Chekampar lies in the altitude of 3030 meters from the sea level. From this point onwards the region is known as the upper Tsum. This village is sparsely settled and has two monasteries namely Rachen Gompa and Mu Monastery. The area is as well home for large number of black faced monkeys. The people or inhabitants from this place like to call them as Tsumbas and they resemble a lot with Tibetan. The houses are different and made out of stone and mud.
