Banepa is an ancient village, now a modern town, that was a strategic business point at the time of Ming dynasty in China. The town has several 14th and 16th century hindu and buddhist shrines that is worth exploring. Situated at around 1400 meters from the sea level, Banepa is a very pleasant destination in terms of temperature wise. The nearby viewpoints provide descent views of the mountains as well. One beautiful temple to watch in the middle of a prehistoric village is the temple of Chandeshwari.
