Thank you for choosing Nepal overland tour! On this day you arrive to Kathmandu and we transfer you to your accommodation. You rest and rejuvenate for days to come. You can as well explore the surrounding and get to know a little about the country and culture.

Hotel in Kathmandu ( 1 Night)
Kathmandu is the oldest city in the country and it is as well the capital of Nepal. This city is the confluence of historical artifacts meeting the new age architecture. This city is home of several UNESCO world heritage sites and religious shrines of Buddhists. We would spend the day watching these beautiful monuments and watching the lives revolving around it. The day starts at 8:00 am in the morning. After heavy breakfast we carry our day pack and hop on to our vehicle. First we will see Boudhanath temple and stay in the periphery for over 30 minutes. After spending brief moment in Boudhanath we go to see one of the most highly regarded hindu pilgrimage of Pashupatinath. After spending similar amount of time in the complex of pashupatinath we head towards Kathmandu durbar square. Before exploring the area we halt for lunch at around 1 pm. After lunch we explore Kathmandu durbar square we head to Swayambhunath temple. We usually visit swayambhunath in the evening to avoid scorching heat and view the sunset.

The day starts around 9 am in the morning. Majority of the day would be spent driving on one of the major highways in Nepal. We embark on Prithivi highway and drive along major tributaries of Trishuli and Marsyangdi. From Dumre onwards we are south bound leaving the Kathmandu Pokhara highway behind. This small hilly road leads all the way to Bandipur. We rest our bags in the hotel and rest for a while. The entire journey from Kathmandu to Bandipur takes around 6 hours with couple of breaks in between. In the evening we will explore the Bandipur area and hike a little, for around 15 minutes to reach a viewpoint spot from where we will see sunset

Another day on road but for a shorter period of time and only after breakfast and sunrise. After spending sometime watching the sunrise we head towards pokhara which takes only around 2 hours. After reaching pokhara we will spend the day around lakeside and for the rest of the day we will spend by the lakeside watching the mountains and lives of people. If it is not windy we will spend boating in the widely spread lake. Overnight in Pokhara.

The day starts early in the morning and we drive a short distance to a hilltop in Pokhara. This hilltop is famous as Sarangkot and this very place offers a phenomenal mountain view and the sunrise. After sunrise we head down for breakfast and after breakfast we resume our sightseeing. We briefly visit Bindabasini temple and Krishna temple on our way back in the city and after Sarangkot. Furthermore we would see Davis falls and Gupteshwor cave. We break for lunch around 1 pm and break for around an hour. Finally Either we boat across the Phewa lake and hike to the peace pagoda or drive all the way to the foot of the hill and walk 5 minutes to it. The hilltop of peace pagoda is as well a very beautiful viewpoint for mountains in the Annapurna region and the city as well as the lake at the foot of it. Overnight in Pokhara.

We will wave bye bye to the mountain scenery and say hello to exotic wildlife. Around 4 hours of drive and we make it to Sauraha - a small settlement in the Chitwan National park buffer zone. We dont do much on the day except strolling around Tharu villages and seeing lives and animals on the banks of rapti river. The only thing happening on this day is the Tharu cultural show over the dinner in the evening. Overnight in Chitwan.

Dinner only in Chitwan
Be prepared as the day is going to be long and has plenty of activities. We begin early morning elephant safari at around 8 am. The safari takes around an hour and it is one of the best ways to spot one horn rhino and many other animals and birds. After the Elephant safari we will survey the elephant and crocodile breeding centers. By the time we are done with these it will be after noon and we will pause for lunch. We would however take a long break to avoid the scorching heat. Later in the day we do canoeing and spot crocodile basking in the sun. Later we will have a relaxed evening.

3 times meals during the trek (staple meal of Daal Bhat for lunch and dinner or any one item from the menu.)
Time to wave off the most happening national parks in the country. We get back on the same coiled highway along the rivers of Narayani and Trishuli. It takes around 5 to 6 hours to reach Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu we transfer you to your hotel and our Nepal overland tour comes to end.
