Nepal is a rich country in natural resources and cultural heritages. Although being a small landlocked country situated in between two big countries and very diverse geography, Nepal has an ability to lure tourists all over the world to here every years. Through literal meaning, Hospitality refers to the relationship between a guest and a host, wherein the host receives the guest with goodwill, including the reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers. In Nepal hospitality is based on the principle Atithi Devo Bhava, meaning “the guest is God”. This principle is shown in a number of stories where a guest is revealed to be a god who rewards the provider of hospitality. From this stems Nepalese practice of graciousness towards guests at home and in all social situations.

Nepal is a country of Mount Everest, birth place of lord Gautam Buddha, country of diverse culture, tradition, garden of different castes and religion. Every year thousands of tourist come to visit Nepal and enjoy the real life.

Tourism board of Nepal is also conscious about this matter. They are also organizing different programm to attract tourist. Here Tourism Year 2011 was organized and it was successful. Many hotel industry has came to Nepal to provide home away from home environment to the guest. Now there are many hotels, resorts, Guest house, lodge to provide facilities and services to the tourist.

There is a belief that Nepalese people are hospitable, polite and kind to strangers. We can hear the ancient stories in Nepal when people use to travel from place to place and use to stay in the villages where they never had been to or they were new for the villagers. The villagers used to welcome the Strangers with all their abilities and gratitude. This belief is still prevalent in the Nepalese Societies, that if someone at evening comes to the home of Nepalese, They want to welcome the person and request him/her to stay there in their house.
Tourism is a science of understanding human psychology. It’s a culmination of the studies of sociology, economy and conservation. It is ever changing and constant. As the time and the societal conditions are always dynamic the improvisations and time relevant changes are happening in the Nepalese hospitality . As the hotels and motels were very rear in early 1960s ,70s now we can get any sort of hotels and restaurants almost anywhere in Nepal where we can get foods, drinks , accommodation and guidance for roaming around too. As the devastating earthquake of 2015, happened, it greatly affected the tourism sector , but now almost it has been recovered and the hotel services are back in the track. It has always been believed that Nepalese hotels are more hospitable and “ home far away from home”. They almost have all the facilities of guiding the strangers and providing almost all luxurious facilities.

Nepalese hospitability almost consist all the factors like cultural values, religious values and indigenous foods and habits which can be found as a conglomeration in Hotels and restaurants of Nepal these days.
