Kyanjin Gompa lies at around 3870 meters from the sea level. This is a very excellent day hike from the langtang valley and still is worth exploring after the devastating earthquake followed by the avalanche. The gompa or the buddhist shrine housed in the village suffered minor destruction unlike the village which turned into rubble. The walls of the Kyanjin Gompa has fallen down but you still can see beautiful murals and thangka paintings. The monument is under construction with the help of national and international volunteers.
